As children with
disabilities have enrolled in inclusive classrooms, one of the challenges
teachers face is to create a classroom community whereby typically developing
children understand and accept students with disabilities as peers and friends.
To facilitate young
children’s positive attitudes toward peers with disabilities, it is important
to understand what young children think about their classmates with
disabilities and how their ideas and thoughts affect their acceptance of and
behaviors toward classmates with disabilities. This presentation will focus on
how young children’ attitudes toward peers with disabilities are related to
their actual play behaviors with classmates with disabilities in inclusive
preschool classrooms.
I enjoyed your presentation. Thanks
