The School of Education, Loyola University Chicago, announces a non-tenure track, assistant professor position with primary teaching and service responsibilities in the area of Administration and Supervision. The Administration and Supervision program is engaged in innovative, field-based experiences to prepare principal and teacher leaders for leadership in Illinois public and Catholic schools. Loyola's NCATE accredited programs prepare school leaders in the Chicago metropolitan area, one of the nation's liveliest educational scenes.

The selected individual will teach graduate-level courses in administration and supervision of P-12 schools at our Loyola Water Tower campus and at our Cuneo campus in Vernon Hills. The individual selected for this position will demonstrate commitment to serving a diverse student body and profession. Program courses to be taught include educational leadership in mission driven schools, educational law, finance, etc. Finally, the individual may be involved in program redesign for superintendent endorsement.
Required qualifications include: an appropriate earned doctoral degree in P-12 Educational Leadership and Policy Studies or a related field, at least five years of school leadership experience with documented evidence of leading schools for improved student outcomes, experience leading building and district-level administrative positions, and classroom teaching experience. 

The desired individual will hold a state of Illinois principal's license as well as the state superintendent endorsement. Certification in Illinois' Growth Learning Training teacher and principal evaluation training preferred.

Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy has three open positions for Postdoctoral Fellows, starting July 1, 2015.

Position 1: Research Use in Schools and School Districts

We seek a postdoctoral fellow to work on the IES-funded National Center for Research in Policy and Practice.  This one-year position begins July 1, 2015 and has the possibility of extension into a second year. We seek applicants with a strong training in qualitative or mixed-methods research, and expertise in one or more of the following: the relationship between research and practice, district decision making, organizational theory, policymaking, school leadership, or implementation of Common Core Standards in Mathematics and English Language Arts.

The postdoctoral fellow will participate in a two-year mixed-methods study of the factors that enable and constrain research use in four urban school districts. The study, led by Cynthia Coburn and Jim Spillane, involves an interdisciplinary team from Northwestern University, Harvard University, and University of Colorado-Boulder. The postdoctoral fellow will participate in all phases of the project including: developing instruments; data collection; data analysis, and the publication of results. The principal investigators will encourage the postdoctoral scholar to develop publications that build on her or his emerging research agenda.  The postdoctoral scholar must be able and willing to travel to research sites; work both individually and as part of a multi-campus team; and provide supervision to undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have an earned doctorate in education, sociology, political science, public policy, or related field. The position carries a competitive salary plus health insurance coverage and has the possibility of renewal, conditional upon performance and available funding. Positions 2 and 3: Early Childhood Mathematics Policy

We seek two Postdoctoral Fellows to participate in an innovative study of districts’ efforts to create greater alignment preschool through grade 3 in mathematics. The multi-level, longitudinal study investigates the relationship between district policy efforts and students’ experiences, learning opportunities, and mathematics learning. The study is being carried out under the auspices of the DREME Network (Development and Research in Early Mathematics Education), an interdisciplinary network of scholars dedicated to conducting innovative research and development on early childhood mathematics funded by the Heising-Simons Foundation.[1] This study is a collaboration of scholars from Northwestern University, UCLA, University of Denver, and Vanderbilt University.

Clinical Associate/Full Professor

NYU Steinhardt’s Program in Educational Leadership in the Department of Administration, Leadership, and Technology invites nominations and applications for a Clinical faculty member in Educational Leadership at either the clinical associate  professor or clinical professor rank.  This is a non-tenure track position that begins September 1, 2015.  Our academic programs focus on leadership, politics and advocacy for enhancing educational opportunity for children in urban schools; they include Master’s degrees in School Building Leadership and in Leadership, Politics and Advocacy, as well as EdD and PhD degrees in Educational Leadership.  Our Master’s and EdD programs prepare leaders for schools, school systems, and community-based organizations and our PhD program prepares researchers, policy makers, and professors of leadership and policy studies.
    
Responsibilities include: Organizing, supervising and assessing leadership internships and maintaining linkages with internship administrators/sites; teaching program courses; participating in program development and assessment; providing academic advisement for students; participating in faculty meetings and serving on committees appropriate to a university faculty member.
 
Qualifications:  The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in educational leadership or a relevant discipline for the study of educational leadership, politics/policy and advocacy; experience working in K-12 environments, including leadership positions in K-12 systems or in community-based organizations; experience teaching and mentoring graduate students; experience in program administration/development/coordination; a deep knowledge of New York City education and advocacy organizations serving children and youth is an advantage.

The School of Education at Concordia University Irvine, California, announces a search for a graduate faculty member to serve in the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership Program, beginning July 1, 2015. The Program seeks an academically qualified and experienced professor to teach research courses and to lead dissertation seminars in blended learning environments (face-to-face, synchronous/asynchronous online) that support active and meaningful learning experiences.

The position allows for a professor to work with students and faculty members from a remote, online location. Some occasional travel to the Irvine campus is expected.

Qualifications:
·      An earned doctorate in educational leadership or a field directly related to educational research.

Duties and Responsibilities:
·      Active participation in the Doctor of Education program.

·      Serve on dissertation committees including chair positions.

To enhance the curricular offerings and future research activities as well as grant funding initiatives, the Department is seeking an assistant or associate professor with demonstrated expertise as a school administrator or leadership professional involved in school, district, or program management. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of competence and sufficient experience to conduct research in the areas of instructional leadership, professional development, K-12 curriculum, and school-community dynamics.
