Clinical Associate/Full Professor

NYU Steinhardt’s Program in Educational Leadership in the Department of Administration, Leadership, and Technology invites nominations and applications for a Clinical faculty member in Educational Leadership at either the clinical associate  professor or clinical professor rank.  This is a non-tenure track position that begins September 1, 2015.  Our academic programs focus on leadership, politics and advocacy for enhancing educational opportunity for children in urban schools; they include Master’s degrees in School Building Leadership and in Leadership, Politics and Advocacy, as well as EdD and PhD degrees in Educational Leadership.  Our Master’s and EdD programs prepare leaders for schools, school systems, and community-based organizations and our PhD program prepares researchers, policy makers, and professors of leadership and policy studies.
    
Responsibilities include: Organizing, supervising and assessing leadership internships and maintaining linkages with internship administrators/sites; teaching program courses; participating in program development and assessment; providing academic advisement for students; participating in faculty meetings and serving on committees appropriate to a university faculty member.
 
Qualifications:  The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in educational leadership or a relevant discipline for the study of educational leadership, politics/policy and advocacy; experience working in K-12 environments, including leadership positions in K-12 systems or in community-based organizations; experience teaching and mentoring graduate students; experience in program administration/development/coordination; a deep knowledge of New York City education and advocacy organizations serving children and youth is an advantage.
