Assistant Professor - Early Childhood Special Education in New York New York United States

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The School of Education of Hunter College-CUNY invites applications for a tenure track position in Early Childhood Special Education effective September 1, 2015. Appointment to this position is anticipated at the assistant professor rank. The college places a high priority on research and teaching excellence with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field.

Applicants will be expected to: conduct research and publish scholarly writing in special education; teach graduate courses; supervise students in field placements; develop and maintain relationships with early childhood special education programs in schools and institutions; advise graduate students; serve on department, school of education, college, and university committees; develop training and/or research grant proposals; and demonstrate leadership in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D or Ed.D is required. Extensive knowledge of theory and practice in early childhood special education; experience teaching within the certification range of birth through grade 2; strong evidence of promising research and scholarly activity; university teaching and supervisory experience; competence in technology as an educational tool. Candidates must have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban education settings.
