The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Education at Hampshire College is excited to invite you to a /Race Matters /Lecture given by Dr. Christine Sleeter on Wednesday, November 19th at 5:30pm in the Main Lecture Hall, Franklin Patterson Hall, Hampshire College. Sleeter is an international reknowned scholar of Anti-Racist Multicultural Education and she will be speaking on /Critical Family History as a Tool for Confronting Today's Social Justice Issues.  

Christine Sleeter is Professor Emerita at California State University, Monterey Bay. She is the Immediate Past President of the National Association for Multicultural Education and recipient of the American Educational Research Association Social Justice in Education Award. Sleeter's most recent books include: /Power, Teaching and Teacher Education/ (Peter Lang, 2013), /Professional Development for Culturally Responsive//and/ /Relationship-based Pedagogy /(Peter Lang, 2013), and /Creating Solidarity across Diverse Communities/ (with EncarnaciĆ³n Soriano, Teachers College Press, 2012).
