Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education

The Department  of Instructional  Leadership  and Academic  Curriculum in the University of Oklahoma's Jeannine Rainbolt  College of Education  invites nominations and applications for one full-time,  tenure-track position  in the field  of early childhood education  (Oklahoma Certification  is grades pre-k -grade 3).  The position includes responsibilities in undergraduate and graduate education.   Candidates at the assistant rank will be considered for this position.

POSITION: Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Early Childhood Education, Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum

SALARY: Nine months, commensurate with rank and experience

STARTING DATE:       August 15, 2015

RESPONSIBILITIES

A.  Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Early Childhood Education and related areas;

B.  Conduct research and participate in other scholarly activities;

C.    Advise graduate students;

D.    Collaborate with faculty in undergraduate and graduate program development;

E.    Provide service to the university, community, early childhood programs in public and private settings, and broader profession.

QUALIFICATIONS

A.  Required: Earned doctorate at the time of appointment in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related area; Potential for or demonstrated competencies in research, publication, teaching and service; Minimum of three years teaching young children, birth through age 8, in public or private settings.

B.   Preferred: Interest and/or experience in teaching and scholarship in Early Childhood Education; Scholarly understanding of Dual Language Learners and Early Childhood Special Education ; Interest and experience working in an interdisciplinary environment;

Potential for or demonstrated competencies in obtaining external funding;

Effective teaching experience at the university level.
