Clinical Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership Programs

Washington State University (WSU) is a major research university where teaching, research, and service are all highly valued. The Educational Leadership programs are housed within the Department of Educational Leadership, Sport Studies, and Educational/Counseling Psychology in the College of Education. Masters of Arts, Doctor of Education (EdD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and certification (Principal, School Administrator, and Superintendent) make up the Educational Leadership programs. WSU is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral-Research-Extensive Institution, and has three other campuses in addition to the Pullman campus (Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver). 

Position Description: The Educational Leadership faculty extend the invitation to join our collegial team through application for one clinical assistant professor on the Pullman campus, which is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month position with possibility of summer employment.  
This position fills the role of teaching, advising, and recruiting for the higher education emphasis in the highly successful Statewide EdD in Educational Leadership and the masters programs. Supervising student interns including seminars, portfolio completion, field visits, and job placement are additional duties. 

Candidates must be able to contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Educational Leadership programs including participation in shared governance and student development. The position requires collaboration with faculty in all Educational Leadership programs across the State and engagement in scholarship of practice activities at state, regional, and national forms.  
Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, or related field; successful higher education experience; experience with diverse students or communities; and ability and desire to carry out scholarship and creative activity. 

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to collaborate with colleagues in the department, college, and university; readiness to instruct students on leadership and administration in higher education; willingness to carry out distance education in a variety of modes; and expertise in one or more of the following: policy, student affairs; higher education law; or adult learning and development.
