Position: Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track) in Early Childhood Education (EC-6)

Starting Date: August 2015

Job Description:
We are seeking a collaborative and energetic teacher/scholar who is an advocate for children and developmentally appropriate practices in educational settings. This faculty member will teach undergraduate/graduate courses, conduct and disseminate research, advise and mentor students, engage in service activities, and serve on assigned college and university committees. The position includes participating in a multidisciplinary field-based program and some supervision of students during fieldwork. 

Qualifications:
1.     An earned doctorate in early childhood education or a closely related field (or expected completion prior to August 2015).
2.     A record of at least three years of successful full time teaching experience in Prekindergarten-Grade 4.*
3.     Expertise in an area of early childhood education such as play and creativity, early childhood curriculum, or early literacy.
4.     A scholarly research agenda and demonstrated potential for making national and international contributions to the early childhood field through research and publications.
5.     Valid teaching certificate.
6.     Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferences:
1.     Experience teaching at the college/university level.
2.     *Public school teaching experience.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
