Position Announcement
The Human Development & Family Studies department in the College of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position beginning fall 2015. Primary areas of interest should include early childhood education and child development. Responsibilities for the program include: 1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in early childhood education and child development; 2) developing a program of research, including securing external funding; 3) providing professional development to staff at our child development laboratory; and 4) advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications
An earned doctorate in early childhood education, child development or a related field is required. A successful candidate will have an established research program, effective teaching and outreach skills, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities. A demonstrated commitment to promoting excellence to achieving ethnic, gender and cultural diversity. Experience with early childhood programs and experience with campus early childhood laboratory schools is preferred.

Human Development & Family Studies Department
The Human Development & Family Studies Department (http://www.chhs.unh.edu/hdfs) has programs that emphasize both theoretical and practical knowledge about children, individuals, and families. The department is committed to acknowledging and supporting diversity, to providing an educational environment that stresses excellence and innovation, and to developing exemplary programs to serve both students and the larger community. There are six tenure-track faculty, and two clinical faculty and 220 undergraduate and graduate majors. The Family Studies Department operates the Child Study and Development Center (http://www.chhs.unh.edu/csdc), and a Marriage and Family Therapy Center (http://www.shhs.unh.edu/fs/grad_mft.html).
