P-12 EDUCATIONAL POLICY, LEADERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION
DEPARTMENT OF LEADERSHIP, FOUNDATIONS, AND HUMAN RESOURCE EDUCATION

The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) seeks an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in P-12 Educational Policy, Leadership and Administration. Successful applicants should have teaching and research interests in one or more of the following areas: educational leadership, education policy, program evaluation, qualitative methodologies, and/or mixed methods research designs.
The Department of Leadership, Foundations and Human Resource Education (ELFH) includes 22 FTE faculty members and offers a variety of programs that lead to Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral (Ph.D., Ed.D) degrees in the areas of educational administration, organizational leadership and learning, higher education, and evaluation.

Duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses online and off-campus; coordinating recruitment efforts and admission processes; supervising students in field experiences; advising and mentoring graduate students; providing leadership for Ed.S., and Ed.D., and certification programs; and developing a prominent Ph.D. program focused on educational leadership and urban policy.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellence in scholarly research at the national or international level
  • Demonstrated success or the potential for success in seeking external grants and contracts
  • Demonstrated success publishing in referred journals
  • Demonstrated commitment to issues of social justice, diversity, and students from multicultural communities and backgrounds
  • Doctoral degree in P-12 educational policy, leadership and administration or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Demonstrated success in advising educational leaders and policymakers on issues related to production, implementation, and subsequent consequences of local, state, and federal education policies
  • Documented research interest in issues of diversity - racial/ethnic, linguistic, gender, and socioeconomic - as they appear in the urban P-12 context
  • Knowledge of ELCC/CAEP accreditation standards for school and district level leadership
  • Administrative experience in P-12 leadership and leadership preparation programs 
Appointment: 10-month appointment, competitive salary plus $5K stipend per year for program coordinator role
Beginning date: January 1, 2015
