The Seattle Preschool Program is a pilot program for creating a universal, high-quality prekindergarten education. The program will not only address the quality of early education, but will make preschool accessible to families of all income levels, language backgrounds, and children with special needs. This program will be a huge step forward for children, creating the opportunity for lifelong success for all learners, but Seattle will need a creative and dedicated individual to make this high-profile program a success.
As the Director of Early Learning for the newly-created Department of Education and Early Learning, you will work directly with the community, Mayor, and City Council to manage the funding of over fifty-eight million dollars to implement the Seattle Preschool Program. You’ll be tasked with facilitating the connection of the Early Learning program with K-12, ensuring that the Early Learning program best serves the children of our community.
