Assistant Professor for Educational Leadership

The Citadel’s School of Education invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership position to be filled by August, 2015. Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, the School of Education offers master’s level programs leading to South Carolina principal certification in elementary and secondary school administration and an educational specialist program
leading to certification as a superintendent in South Carolina.

Minimum Requirements: Qualifications include an earned doctorate from an accredited university in educational administration or related field, demonstrated success as a P-12 public school administrator, ability to use and model technology as an instructional tool, ability to collaborate with local P-12 school districts, and demonstration of or potential for scholarly writing leading to publication. Preferred qualifications include teaching skills that employ a variety of instructional strategies in both face-to-face and online environments. Also, applicants must document expertise in the areas of instructional leadership, district and school level leadership, organizational theory and behavior, and program assessment. In addition to the online application, applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, a statement that describes basic and preferred qualifications, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three references.
