QUALIFICATIONS: Required:
  •   Current enrollment in a doctoral program; graduate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  •   Licensable/certifiable in the range Birth-age 12 (Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher)
  •   Three years of full time teaching experience in the range Birth-age 12
    Preferred:
  •   Ph.D./Ed.D. with graduate degree in Early Childhood/Elem. Ed, Child Development or related field
  •   Ability to teach professional core courses
  •   Completed coursework with emphasis in applied child development and pedagogical practice
  •   Experience supervising Early Childhood Education/Elementary teacher candidates
  •   Record of Scholarship
    In addition, for consideration of Associate Professor rank and for tenure, a Ph.D. or Ed.D. is required as

    well as post-secondary teaching experience and record of scholarly activity.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Teach Early Childhood Education/Elem. Education courses; supervise teacher candidates in field experiences; advise undergraduate and graduate students; engage in scholarly activities and research; develop and maintain positive relations with outside agencies; demonstrate ability to work collaboratively as well as independently; and participate in service activities at the discipline, school, and university levels.
