Responsibilities: The successful candidate will:
  •   teach social studies education classes in the early childhood program and other social studies
    related coursework at the undergraduate and graduate level;
  •   develop/maintain an active research program in social studies education;
  •   recruit and advise undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students;
  •   actively participate in program, school, college, and university committees;
  •   develop/maintain partnerships with local school districts; and
  •   provide leadership for state, national, and/or international social studies education organizations.
    Qualifications: Doctoral degree in social studies education or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered); three years teaching experience in pre-school or elementary or equivalent social studies education experiences; demonstrated potential for success in college teaching and contributing to academic program development at the undergraduate and graduate levels; demonstrated potential for research productivity in the form of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations; demonstrated ability to work in partnerships with schools; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
    Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
