Assistant/Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services 

The School of Education in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati is seeking an early childhood education faculty member to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise student research and practice, provide service to the school, college, university, and professional organizations, and conduct a focused program of research. We are seeking an innovative scholar with a record of documented independent research accomplishments, external funding, and a national/international reputation or the clear potential to become such a scholar. A well-established and distinguished record of scholarship and exemplary teaching record is required for appointments at the rank of associate. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in a related field from an accredited university, experience teaching in schools, a commitment to urban education, an orientation toward social justice, and a propensity for collegial and community collaboration.

More specifically, candidates for the Assistant/Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education should have a professional background teaching primary education, grades 1-3, with specific expertise in assessment of young children. Expertise and a research focus in science education are also preferred. Candidates with other content area specialization and experience in the primary grades will be considered. This is a tenure- track two semester position with potential for additional teaching with supplementary compensation in summer semester.

The successful candidate’s primary duties will be teaching undergraduate assessment courses and graduate courses in curriculum and instruction or educational studies, mentoring undergraduate students, advising graduate students across School of Education disciplines, conducting research, seeking external funding, and fulfilling professional obligations as expected within a research intensive university.
